Beaker Street Science Photography Prize

2021 Beaker Street Science Photography Prize Finalists

Featuring stunning images from Tasmania and the Southern Ocean / Antarctica, captured by Tasmanian residents, this gallery provides a fascinating window into our unique part of the world, as seen through the eyes of scientists, naturalists, and other keen observers. Make sure to read the photo descriptions - they provide scientific context and insights you might otherwise miss.

These incredible photographs will be exhibited at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, 6 August - 31 August, as part of Beaker Street Festival 2021! Six entries have been chosen by your "likes" (or any other reaction), and another six by our competition judge, Tasmanian landscape and wildlife photographer Cam Blake.

The Beaker Street Science Photography Prize is presented by Beaker Street and the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, and supported by City of Hobart, Events Tasmania, National Science Week, Detached Cultural Organisation, Moo Brew, Full Gamut and Pennicott Wilderness Journeys.

Prints are available to purchase at the size they were exhibited at TMAG. This is approximately A2, including a 30mm white border. Image size will vary with per image due to differing image proportions. Prints are made on a Lustre photo paper.
