about Jim Stagg

Jim was born in England in 1954 and studied at Chelsea School of Art in London, becoming a professional artist in 1972 and working mainly as a photorealist and pop artist.

Influenced by the surrealism of Dali and Magritte, his style gradually evolved into a fusion of fantasy and realism.

He moved from London to Australia in 1981. His paintings are highly detailed and time consuming, often taking months to complete.
