Introduction to Papers & Printing

At Full Gamut we print on a large variety of paper surfaces. Here you will find descriptions of the papers and their uses. Where extra information is available a link will be available if you click on the paper name.

Papers have been broken down into classes to help identify the purpose or look you are trying to achieve. When printing on Inkjet papers we have the option of using Matte or Photo Black ink. By matching the right ink with the right paper surface we are able to produce the maximum black for each surface.

In general papers that use Photo Black will appear to have a highr maximum density and wider colour gamut than the same image on a matte paper using Matte Black ink. The matte papers have a softer feel and the more textured papers exhibit the characteristics of water colour papers.

Feel free to contact us if you need help on deciding which paper best suits your project.
