Tree peony 'Destiny'

One of the world's truly iconic flowers has to be the Tree Peony. Certainly, the Chinese Emperors thought so because at one time they were the only people in China who were allowed to grow them.
The plant is thought to have come into Australia from China in the 1850's as a seed in a gold miner's pocket.Tree peonies need cold winters for best flowers making them well suited to Tasmanian climates.
