The last known Tasmanian tiger (Thylacine) died in the Hobart Zoo, Tasmania, on September 7, 1936. They were once here and now their presence is intangible but a constant presence nevertheless. kunanyi/Mount Wellington is a constant living presence in Hobart, Tasmania. It is a wild place and on the mountain there is a track named the Lost World Track. I let these two ideas form the basis for this emotive painting.
