Black Cockatoo ‘Dark Omen’
Black Cockatoos descend from kunanyi, their loud screeches serving as a dark omen of imminent weather changes. This artwork celebrates both this unique bird species and the Tasmanian waratah, Telopea truncata. It was created in response to the Cable Car Project, as a warning about the effect of habitat change and the disrespect such a project would bring to the local flora and fauna.
The artwork feature textural photographic images within the illustration. These photos were taken on kunyani / Mount Wellington
Archival inkjet print on Ilford Smooth Cotton Rag paper.
