Wombats "By My Side"

"By My Side" captures the tender bond between a mother wombat and her baby, portrayed through the soft and detailed strokes of colour pencil. This drawing showcases a moment of serene grazing, with the mother focused on her meal while the baby stays close, its eyes meeting the viewer’s gaze with a mix of curiosity and trust.

In this piece, the warm hues and delicate textures of the wombats' fur are brought to life, highlighting their gentle, robust forms.. The baby's attentive pose, closely shadowing its mother, emphasises the theme of protection and companionship that is central to the wombat's life.

"By My Side" serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving the habitats that support these endearing creatures, and the need to protect the bonds that sustain them. Each stroke of color pencil is an expression of the love, care, and resilience that define the lives of wombats in the wild.
