Bonnie Belle comprises photographs taken around Devil's Elbow and Whirlpool Reach on the Tamar River, Tasmania.  The Lighthouse is Cape Schanck Light on the Mornington Peninsular, Victoria .

The Cape Schanck Lighthouse was built in 1859 as the second coastal lighthouse in the Australian state of Victoria. It is located on the southernmost tip of the Mornington Peninsula. The tower was built from limestone and is 21 metres tall. It was Australia's first lighthouse tower with stone stairs.

The historic light is one of the few still operating as it did during the mid 1800's. Surrounded by historic Lighthouse Keeper's homes and outbuildings.

I have recreated the light in a landscape of peace and tranquility.  The light warns passing mariners of the dangers that lurk below the surface.  In 1868, a Hobart built schooner, the Petrel struck rocks at Whirlpool Reach. Boats from the shore arrived to find the Petrel hanging on its port side with a flood tide making, and after very little of the cargo was recovered, the vessel was abandoned. Shortly afterwards the Petrel’s back broke, and it slipped off the reef and sank in 23 fathoms of water.

Concerted efforts were made to refloat the uninsured vessel, but without success.

Technical
The just over 7 GB layered file comprises 68 layers and 23 individual photographs.  As mentioned above the landscape is in the Tamar River at Whirlpool Reach/Devil's Elbow region and the Lighthouse at Cape Schanck in Victoria.  The house is actually a church I shot at Melton Mowbray in the Tasmanian Midlands, just south of Oatlands.  The moon (a super moon) was captured at Seven Mile Beach where I live.
